Responsible for delivering on engineering responsibilities pertaining to remote site technologies and systems that are compliant with company standards, security policies, and best practices at remote LKQ environments. The technical responsibilities for this position include vulnerability assessment and remediation practices for remote site routing, switching, firewall, and wireless technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years of related experience including experience in an environment of comparable size/complexity.
Ability to utilize network monitoring and analytical tools for troubleshooting.
May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback
Self-motivated, hardworking, and dependable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work on a diverse team with members located in multiple international locations.

Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, FCE, JNCIS, JNCIE, or similar.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, maintenance and upgrade of networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, wireless environments, and Zscaler or proxy web filtering.
Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission.
Identify, assess, and coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities across remote site infrastructure, to ensure compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support to various departments and users with regards to LAN/WAN and cloud-based networks
Research networking security requirements; prepares detailed design , installation, and hardening plans.
Conduct internal studies of vulnerability metrics and traffic analysis.
Research problems and evaluate new technologies.
Meet end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, security and compliance of the networks managed within established budgets and operational guidelines.
Determine and diagram the physical layout which illustrates the physical location of and the connections between devices participating on the network.
Determine and diagram the logical layout which documents the communication protocols (e.g., IP, TCP, etc.) and type of service/application (email, file transfer, web browsing, etc.) for each segment of the network.
Automate routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement.
