About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team! The Network Engineer will be responsible for performing network support and system troubleshooting to maintain the integrity and availability of our systems. This position involves hands-on administration, implementation, and troubleshooting of enterprise network systems. This is an onsite position in Richardson, TX

Requirements

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret DOD security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
5+ years as a Network Engineer.

Nice To Haves

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret DOD security clearance is required prior to start date.
Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification within a year.
Advanced knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and authentication servers.
Experience with platforms such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Call Manager, NTP servers, General Dynamics GemOne, and SolarWinds.
Experience configuring, updating, and troubleshooting encryption devices and intrusion detection systems.
Experience with classified computing, NIST and other Security doctrine, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.
Experience with project management, team leadership, and personnel development.
Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision.
Working knowledge of network security and infrastructure best practices.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced knowledge in support of (software/firmware/hardware) LAN/WAN components including routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto).
Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize network system performance, proactively identifying and quickly resolving service impacting issues.
Review system vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with recognized industry standards and best practices.
Drive and/or participate in projects in support of installation and/or improvement to voice, video, and network infrastructure.
Produce, update, and generally improve technical documentation to support security requirements and operational support of systems.
Propose to management and configure network solutions, meeting all communications requirements based on future needs, current usage, cost savings, and availability.
Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for network infrastructure.
Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance and procurement for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical teams through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Willingness and availability to travel to local and other U.S domestic sites approximately 30% of time.
Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
