As the Network Operations Engineer you will be responsible for the performance, availability, and security of Network, Compute, Data, and Infrastructure supporting a 24x7 manufacturing environment across business segments. You will drive stable operations through proactive monitoring, automation, and rapid incident response—improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost via resilient infrastructure, clear reporting, and continuous improvement. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities In this role, you will: Ensure 24x7 site reliability: Monitor and maintain uptime, latency, and capacity across OT/IT networks, compute, and data platforms; deliver clear availability and performance reporting. Proactive monitoring and automation: Deploy, manage, and tune monitoring on equipment using MT Connect and Historian; define baselines, thresholds, and alerting; build automated detection and remediation to prevent service interruptions. Incident response and ownership: Rapidly triage, escalate, and resolve production-impacting outages; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Data and reporting: Work with Data Operations Engineer to support business stakeholders with self-serve dashboards and reports using OpsVision and Spotfire; simplify complex data into actionable insights for operations and leadership. Infrastructure support: Provide on-site support for networking infrastructure; assist with machine installs, cabling, switch closet/server room upgrades, temperature control, and connectivity. Cybersecurity response: Provide immediate response to cybersecurity threats; support compliance efforts including CMMC and CUI handling in coordination with security teams. Lean and cost optimization: Participate in lean, cost savings, and technology refresh/obsolescence projects; standardize processes and documentation to improve reliability and reduce total cost of ownership. Collaboration and escalation: Partner with Digital Technology (DT) and site teams on tickets, deployments, SQDIP actions, and projects; provide on-call support as needed. Solid understanding of OT/IT networking fundamentals (e.g., VLANs, routing, switching), monitoring concepts (baselines, thresholds, alerting), and incident response. Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby). Ability to interpret and communicate complex performance data to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Willingness to provide on-site support for a 24x7 manufacturing environment with occasional off-hours or weekend work during incidents, maintenance windows, or cutovers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 1 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 6 years of professional experience Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience Eligibility Requirement: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Experience extending or customizing monitoring tools and building automated remediation workflows. Manufacturing or OT environment experience.
