Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: Provides operational support for organizational networks, including departmental LAN/WAN, backbone/data center infrastructures and network related services. Monitors network to ensure optimal performance, including site outage investigations and equipment failures. Installs and configures network equipment in accordance with network standards. Documents network cable plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides first point of escalation into networking team. Monitors network to ensure optimal performance, including site outage investigations and equipment failures. Assists in the management of network capacity and escalates when appropriate. Researches and implements solutions for vendor and end-user initiatives. Installs and configures network equipment in accordance with network standards. Assesses current communication equipment rooms for identification of end devices in preparation of network equipment replacement. Participates in the planning for network equipment replacement, including configuration of equipment, physical installations and coordination with stakeholders for maintenance scheduling. Documents network cable plant and maintains an inventory of network components throughout entire network infrastructure. Recommends and implements process changes to improve efficiency. Provides on-call coverage to service network interruptions, escalating when appropriate. Resolves problems with cabling partners regarding procedures, managing customer expectations and successfully closing all customer orders. Identifies and documents areas of improvement. Conducts research to assist in the creation of technical support documentation for systems and applications. Other duties as assigned.
