Department Details Summary Responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations. Job Description Understands the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures. Understands and is able to apply principles of anatomy and physiology, normal and abnormal, related to procedures performed. Possesses working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered. May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is required.
  • Completion of department approved training program is required.
  • Required credentials of one or more of the followings: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT), Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (REPT), Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT), or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologists (R.NCS.T).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
  • Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.
