Join the fully supported SAMGI NeuroTrauma program at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital – Shoreline, a newly built, state-of-the-art facility recognized for excellence in stroke and trauma care. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-acuity neurosurgical service caring for critically injured trauma patients who require specialty neurosurgical management—all while enjoying a predictable schedule and coastal lifestyle. Position Overview SAMGI is seeking Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to support its busy Neurosurgery service. This role is ideal for APPs who enjoy acute care, teamwork, and maintaining strong procedural and clinical skills in a collaborative environment. Schedule & Compensation 183 shifts annually 10-hour shifts Shared coverage model between 2 APPs No call, no nights, Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the on-call neurosurgeon to evaluate, manage, and disposition neurosurgical consults from the Emergency Department and inpatient units Round on all neurosurgical service patients, providing comprehensive assessments and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams Conduct outpatient clinic follow-ups to ensure continuity of neurosurgical care Assist in neurosurgical procedures as needed, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative management Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery expectations

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
  • Active Texas licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • National certification as an NP or PA
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

  • Prior neurosurgery, trauma, or acute care experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities
