Neurosurgery PA

Assignment Length:
Initial 6-month contract
Potential to extend
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Openings: 1
Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search
Practice Setting:
Inpatient, OR and Call coverage
50% inpatient and OR coverage, 50% clinic coverage
Rotating night and weekend call coverage
Practice includes 4 Neurosurgeons and 3 APPs
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30a-5:00p
Full-time coverage needed
Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: 30-60 days

Requirements

• Active Florida licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1-year Neurosurgery experience or equivalent
• Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
• Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Florida
• National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
