Position Summary: Presents a positive image to Halperns’ Steak and Seafood customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of Halperns’ products. Communicates all customer issues and concerns. Operates Halperns’ equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of Tractor-Trailer, refrigerated van and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.

Requirements

• Ability to adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures.
• Must maintain a professional appearance wearing the Halperns’ uniform.
• This position requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment.
• Must be goal oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of product.
• Ability to operate a van, straight truck and/or tractor-trailer CMV as appropriate
• Must be able to operate a dolly with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.
• Uses dollies and other safety equipment to aid in the lifting and carrying of products.
• At least 6 months previous driving experience required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Non-CDL driver's license and a DOT Medical Card required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safe, accurate, efficient and timely deliveries of products.
• Builds and maintains relationships with customers and peers, collaborating with management and sales representatives to ensure excellent customer service.
• Completes daily check-ins and driver logs accurately.
• Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Monitors temperature, reports mechanical issues or damages in a timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned.
