About The Position

The Non-Invasive Cardiology Technician provides efficient and effective diagnostic services to patients in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department at Singing River Health System. The Technician performs the following special procedures: Electrocardiograms (ECG, SAECG); Cardiac Stress Tests; Electroencephalograms (EEG); Tilt Table Studies; and Holter Monitor Studies. The Non-Invasive Cardiology Technician is competent with departmental documentation and workflow within the cardiology data managements systems. The Non-Invasive Cardiology Technician evaluates diagnostic benefits of services rendered to patients; discusses any difficulties his or her patient might be having with a particular procedure with the patient’s physician; and, evaluates the quality of technical procedures and/or studies in order to facilitate accurate interpretation for diagnostic purposes. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Required to complete and maintain current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification courses in electrodiagnostic from an accredited institution preferred.
  • ACLS preferred.
  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Cardiographic Technician (CCT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
  • Registered EEG Technician by the American Board of Registry EEG Technician (ABRET) preferred.
  • Previous work experience or training under the supervision of an experienced Technician in electrodiagnostic services preferred.
