The qualified students would work with their designated faculty or supervisor on specific Astronomy projects related to research or outreach within the field of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The qualified students will do research, develop activities, and workshops for professional development to give them the experience of working as a professional within the field. It is understood that qualified students have an Astronomy, Physics, or Engineering background as determined by the projects they are selected for. The qualified students will learn and demonstrate how academic knowledge acquired in classes applies to real-word problems in research and outreach. The qualified students may use or learn additional skills such as but not limited to, reading journal articles, computer coding, technical writing, verbal/ visual/ written communication, data analysis, statistics and more during the scope of this program. The Department of Astronomy within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Non-OSU Student Research Assistant to join our team.
