The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $18.13 - $18.13 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SHIFT: 11PM-7:30AM (rotating weekends)

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Paid or practicum experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in English and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good public relations skills.
  • Good bedside manners.
  • Usual Work Day: 8 Hours

Responsibilities

  • Assists with CPR under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
  • Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and or information systems.
  • Performs patient care tasks related to activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, hair, skin, and oral care.
  • Completes assigned patient duties within the time frame established by the registered nurse.
  • Reinforces transition/discharge teaching and patient self care activities.
  • Performs required clinical skills such as vital sign measurement and enters patient vital signs information into computer, aseptic technique, non-invasive specimen collection, hot and cold applications, simple respiratory therapy, post mortem care, ostomy care, and application of teds/pneumatic teds.
  • Provides complete AM/PM care, vital signs, intake and output, appropriate and timely documentation and participates in skin rounds.
  • Assists with admission, transfer, or discharge of patients.
  • Observes patients carefully for significant changes.
  • Seeks to improve the effectiveness of communication and interactions with others.
  • Collaborates with the RN, the need for referrals to assist in addressing patient safety and legal issues.
  • Verifies physician's orders prior to performing procedure.
  • Clarifies with RN any special procedures or observations necessary.
  • Communicates patients' progress toward desired outcomes and diagnostic results to RN as appropriate.
  • Reports consistently patient data in a concise and thorough manner.
  • Assists with the identification of actual and potential risks to patient safety.
  • Reports patient safety issues utilizing to appropriate personnel.
  • Describes the unit based quality improvement activities and implications for practice.
