This position is located at the Southside Community Medical Home, Olympia, WA. The facility falls under the supervison of Madigan AMC. Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid Registered Nurse License that has not elapsed/expired.
  • Must have an Associates, Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Madigan is non-smoking facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients with acute and chronic renal failure.
  • Administer blood transfusions, intravenous fluid, and special medications via intravenous push.
  • Perform highly sophisticated therapies such as hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, peritoneal dialysis, metabolic testing, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and transplant education.
  • Teach patient, family, and significant others the principles of dialysis and the different modalities available.
  • Initiate appropriate measures to include resuscitation during cardiac or respiratory arrest or allergic reaction.
  • Maintain records, develop and revise nursing care plan based on nursing and medical history, physical examination, and patients’ needs and/or problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
