About The Position

Nurse Educator - OB Full-Time, primarily 8a - 4:30p; shift may vary based on departmental needs. Independently functions as an instructor, coordinator, and/or designer of a variety of health-related programs focusing on clinical and patient care staff education. Coordinate and facilitate orientation/onboarding for new employees, agency staff, and internal transfers. Plan, implement, and assess initial and ongoing staff competencies. Provide classroom instruction and skills training to support clinical education and development. Serve as an active member on relevant councils and committees. Maintain flexibility to support night and weekend shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Certification in professional development or other nursing specialty required within 5 years of hire.
• For certain areas such as Birthplace, Surgical and/or Emergency Departments certain certifications may be required upon hire or within a specific time frame.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Writing, group presentation, individual counseling, test development, program planning and implementation skills.
• ACLS and/or PALS provider status preferred.
• Computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel. Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities and complete tasks within a limited time frame.
• Demonstrates transformational leadership skills
