Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices. Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner. Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at bedside. Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command. Assumes accountability for decision made. Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation. Delegates tasks based on the needs of the patient, potential for harm, patient stability, task complexity, and outcome predictability within the scope of skill set and practice. Participated as a team member by utilizing team skills effectively on a daily basis. Holds self and others accountable for effective communication skills. Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
