About The Position
Part‑Time Night Shift Nurse (RN or LPN) St. Augustine Home for the Aged – Indianapolis, IN Serving the elderly poor with love, respect, and dignity for more than 150 years. We are seeking a Part‑Time Night Shift Nurse (RN or LPN) to provide skilled, compassionate care during overnight hours. In keeping with the vision of the Little Sisters of the Poor, this role supports person‑centered care that values each resident’s dignity, wisdom, and well‑being. Requirements
- Current RN or LPN license in the State of Indiana (required)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Prior nursing experience (long‑term care or geriatrics preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification , or willingness to attend the Home’s next quarterly CPR class to become current
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the care team
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer skills
- Commitment to resident rights, confidentiality, and person‑centered care
Nice To Haves
- Prior nursing experience (long‑term care or geriatrics preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide and supervise nursing care for residents on the assigned unit
- Function as Charge Nurse during scheduled shift, ensuring smooth unit operations
- Administer and document medications and treatments in accordance with care plans
- Monitor resident condition and communicate changes appropriately
- Supervise and support Nursing Assistants
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all regulations and policies
- Respond calmly and effectively to overnight emergencies
