Responsible for 24-hour operation of an assigned patient care unit. This includes the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of patient care and nursing services for the assigned area of responsibility. Serves as a clinical resource and role model for unit staff. Incorporates the needs and behaviors of patient’s age group in planning and providing care.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Current CT RN license
• 5 years recent, progressive acute care nursing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Previous management experience required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for 24-hour operation of an assigned patient care unit.
• Assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of patient care and nursing services for the assigned area of responsibility.
• Serves as a clinical resource and role model for unit staff.
• Incorporates the needs and behaviors of patient’s age group in planning and providing care.
• Responsible for the 24-hour management of overall operations for a unit.
