About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 600+ provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and who is willing to support the growth of an orthopedic practice as part of a dedicated orthopedic program. Responsibilities include co-management of the orthopedic patient in collaboration with the patient’s primary orthopedic surgeon. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the multiple types of joint injections, casting, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical assisting, post-operative follow up, and management of both acute conditions as well as chronic, non-surgical conditions. The advanced practice provider would be responsible for ordering, interpreting and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications, and developing a treatment plan. This position specifically attends to the hospital consults, IP follow ups, manages IP discharges for all IP status surgeries, primary service call 8am – 5pm weekdays, ED consults and referral triage/management. The qualified candidate will exude passion about orthopedic health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities. The desirable candidate will also have prior healthcare experience in a Hospitalist and/or clinic role. Support: Team of 5 full-time PA's and a sports med provider who support 5 surgeons from general orthopedics, sports medicine, foot & ankle and spine surgery. Surgeries are performed at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Nampa.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • Strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare experience in a Hospitalist and/or clinic role
