Provide direct medical management for patients within their scope of practice with the collaborating physician or designee.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of WV and licensed as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of WV
• Master’s Degree in Nursing specializing in Emergency or Family Practice
• Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, and ATLS certification required
• Knowledge of HCAPS and how these scores relate to specific job performance.
• Ability to exhibit exceptional customer service skills and consistently maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow caregivers and supervisors
• Proficiency with computers

Responsibilities

• Renders health care services to patients consistent with education, training, and experience as an advanced practice nurse
• Receives patients, obtains health histories, performs physical examinations, develops diagnoses, and treatment plans, prescribes medications, order and interprets laboratory, pathology, x-ray tests and other clinical data
• Obtains and prepares specimens for laboratory testing
• Performs or assists in laboratory testing procedures consistent with education, skills, and training
• Gives injections and immunizations
• Sutures and performs biopsies and electrocautery consistent with education, skills, and training
• Provides patient counseling
• Discusses other health care resources with patients and their families and refer patients, where appropriate
• Makes arrangements or assists with arrangement, for patients in need of more sophisticated diagnostic or treatment modalities than those offered
• Provides emergency care services within the range of education, skills, and experience
• Distributes medical supplies and dispense and prescribe medications, including prescriptive medication within the range of education, skills, and experience
• Supplies general health care information
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records
• Complete Annual Employee Education
