About The Position

Methodist Southlake Medical Center is a 54-bed, acute care hospital serving Southlake, Keller, Grapevine, and northeastern Tarrant County in North Texas. Designed to expand as the community grows, we have 11 operating suites, two endoscopy suites, a diagnostic and interventional catheterization lab, and a newly expanded emergency department with 12 exam rooms. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current Texas professional Nursing license required
  • Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required
  • Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all levels of staff
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English with strong writing, spelling and grammatical skills
  • Consistent professional behavior and able to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively interact with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own actions
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
  • Demonstrates initiative, is a self-starter, works independently within time frames delegated.
  • Demonstrates understanding of MHD guidelines and reference, Infection Control guidelines and MHD safety guidelines
  • Organizes and utilizes time efficiently to complete assignments.
  • Proactive as opposed to reactive problem addressment, appropriate problem analysis, develop recommendations, take appropriate action in problem resolution.
  • 5 or more years nursing management experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic plans and goals in conjunction with MHD Strategic imperatives and MSMC Strategic Goals.
  • Ensures development and implementation of appropriate system to facilitate optimal operations.
  • Recruits, hires and coaches leadership team members. Oversees human resources and staff development operations.
  • Establishes professional relationship with the medical staff to work collaboratively in program planning and addressing clinical practice issues.
  • Develops budgets. Supervises operating within appropriate financial guidelines. Explains budgetary variances.
  • Other duties as assigned.
