About The Position

The Nursing Home Administrator is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operations of a state government-owned nursing home facility. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents, compliance with all regulatory requirements, efficient operational practices, and the financial health of the facility. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and operational processes in long-term care facilities.

Requirements

  • Nursing Home Administrator License Required
  • 24 Hour On Call including nights, weekends and Holidays and In State Travel Required.
  • Extensive understanding of state and federal regulations governing nursing homes, including the Arkansas Nursing Home Licensing Act and CMS guidelines.
  • Ability to identify potential risks, including health and safety concerns, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure resident and staff well-being.
  • An associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must hold a valid, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator license issued by the Arkansas State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, oversee, and manage all daily operations of the nursing home facility, ensuring high standards of care, efficiency, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Lead the development and execution of the facility’s strategic goals and objectives, aligning with state mandates and the facility’s mission to provide excellent care.
  • Ensure the facility is in full compliance with the Arkansas Nursing Home Licensing Act, federal healthcare regulations, and the standards set by the Arkansas Department of Health and other regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and manage the nursing home’s budget, ensuring financial stability and resource optimization.
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of all nursing home staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the nursing home at public meetings, conferences, and health-related forums to promote the facility and build community partnerships.
