About The Position

Provides oversight, leadership, and coordination of nursing services across the agency including all residential levels of care and ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) program. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based nursing practices, regulatory compliance, staff development, and continuity of care for all clients served within residential programs and the ACT program. The Nursing Manager serves as a clinical resource, provides supervision to assigned Registered Nurses (RNs), and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support client-centered care.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Oregon.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience in behavioral health, community mental health, or residential care.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in behavioral health, community mental health, or residential care.
  • Work experience in a mental health for at least two of the last five years.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing, medication management, and crisis intervention.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ACT programs, people with severe mental illness, residential treatment programs, and supportive housing.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) and documentation standards.
  • Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMC-BC) or similar specialty.
  • Experience in community mental health, behavioral health, and/or residential care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations for residential RNs and ACT nurses.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate RNs, provide re-training and evaluate staff performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels; scheduling and reviewing and verifying time sheets.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and trauma-informed work environment.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies for nursing employees.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct routine audits of nursing documentation, medication management systems, and client health records.
  • Participate in incident review, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Lead or support quality improvement initiatives and program evaluations.
  • Develop and implement trainings on medical protocols, safety, and best practices.
  • Support continuing education and licensure compliance for nursing staff.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for competency development.
  • Work closely with Program Managers, Residential Leadership, Medical Providers, and Behavioral Health Teams.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care planning sessions, and case reviews.
  • Serve as a nursing representative in leadership and administrative meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
