Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital Serving the Homewood community, Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is a 595-bed acute-care hospital located in Birmingham, Alabama. The facility offers a full complement of services, including emergency care, cardiovascular care, bariatrics, orthopedics and rehabilitation, and surgical services. It also is one of the largest providers of psychiatric care in the state. At Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital the Nursing Operations Manager for Rehab provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. This individual is accountable for the achievements of the department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership. Our Inpatient Rehab unit is a 30 bed unit with a 6:1 nurse to patient ratio, and is CARF accredited. The focus of our team is to prepare patients for their return home with the involvement of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Schedule: Monday- Friday Time: 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
May require advanced certifications based on the assigned patient population
Minimum two (2) years as a registered nurse in an acute care setting and one (1) year leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree in Business or health-related field preferred.
National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) within 2 years.
Experience as a Manager, Assistant Manager, or Charge Nurse in an inpatient, critical care unit is preferred.
Rehab experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluates the environment and makes recommendations to ensure delivery of quality service, optimal patient flow and comfort, safety, and compliance with various standards of care, regulatory/governing bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO), infection control, and risk management.
Plans, leads, organizes, directs, & evaluates the delivery of patient care to achieve sustained outcomes.
Facilitates a healthy environment that promotes patient and team member safety, high reliability of processes and quality outcomes.
