About The Position

The Nursing Simulated Patient Educator recruits, trains, prepares, and manages simulated patients (SP) in the College of Nursing Simulation Center. Ensures that SPs are prepared to deliver consistent, realistic, and psychologically safe portrayals aligned with learning objectives, assessment needs, and simulation standards. Collaborates closely with faculty, nursing simulation staff, and leadership to integrate simulated patients into a variety of educational activities, including formative simulations, OSCEs, skills validation, and interprofessional learning experiences. Contributes to SP education, feedback training, quality improvement, and program standardization. Maintains fidelity, reliability, and learner trust within simulation-based education. Serves as a key advocate for best practices in simulated patient methodology. Supports high-quality, learner-centered simulation experiences in nursing and health professions education. Supports the growth and sustainability of the simulation program.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and four (4) years of experience; OR bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and simulated participant populations.
  • Knowledge of simulation standards and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in education, healthcare, theater, communication, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare simulation or clinical education.
  • Experience working with simulated patients, standardized patients, or experiential learning programs.
  • Training or experience in simulated patient feedback methodologies.
  • Experience supporting OSCEs or high-stakes learner assessments.
