Requirements
- Are a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Virginia
- Have skilled nursing or long-term care experience
- Are confident making independent clinical decisions
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, providers, and families
- Want leadership responsibility without leaving hands-on nursing behind
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership across the building during assigned shifts
- Serve as the escalation point for changes in condition, admissions, and urgent clinical concerns
- Coach and mentor nurses and CNAs using real-time clinical judgment
- Support safe staffing decisions and prioritize care during high-acuity moments
- Partner closely with the DON and Administrator while maintaining shift-level autonomy
- Ensuring resident care meets professional nursing standards
- Supporting and guiding floor nurses through complex clinical situations
- Addressing issues proactively before they become crises
- Reinforcing compliance, documentation accuracy, and best practices
- Serving as a visible, approachable leader staff rely on
