About The Position

The Gerlach Center Crew supports the construction and logistics of The 360 property. This role includes carpentry, dirt work, painting, heavy equipment operation, facility maintenance, and other manual labor. This position may also support operations of small events and cross-functional BRC Operations. This is a temporary, full-time , non-exempt role, based in Gerlach, NV running from April to September , 2026. The deadline to apply for this role is 5:00 pm Pacific on April 24th, 2026.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in general construction/handyman.
  • 1+ years of experience with power tools including table saw, skilsaw, miter saw, jigsaw, and angle grinder.
  • Ability to work with awareness and clear communication in a production environment.
  • A professional work ethic and enthusiasm toward working with others.
  • Passionate about ecological health and responsible management of shared resources.
  • A team player who is also able to work independently and flexibly in a fast-paced/constantly changing work environment.
  • Instills and applies order and cleanliness to the work environment and pays careful attention to detail in the handling of equipment.
  • Able to temporarily relocate to Gerlach, Nevada for the entirety of the contract.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years in event production.
  • It is helpful if the candidate has previously been to Burning Man and/or is familiar with its culture.
  • First-Aid knowledge.
  • Experience working in remote wilderness and/or desert environments.
  • OSHA 10.
  • Experienced and comfortable with using 2 way radios.
  • A valid state issued Driver’s License and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively as a crew member on the setup of The 360.
  • Create shade structures, level the earth, construct and install signage, and other projects as directed by The 360 Operations Manager.
  • Perform manual labor.
  • Help to maintain the general environment and overall security, organization, and functionality of The 360.
  • This could include working on or actively maintaining: power, fuel, water, and waste systems, structures, shops, tools, and miscellaneous storage.
  • Establish and maintain a clean and safe worksite while utilizing the necessary OSHA approved safety equipment.
  • Support seasonal land stewardship efforts through weed mitigation, noxious species control, and riparian restoration to protect site infrastructure and ecological health.
  • Maintain flexibility as needed in schedules due to the workload being dependent upon vendors, other departments and weather.
  • Properly and respectfully use a radio to communicate for work operations.
  • Provide support to DPW and other BRC-related operations as instructed by the 360 Operations Manager.
  • Be familiar and act in accordance with Burning Man’s staff behavioral standards.
  • Maintain an accurate record to track work hours performed
  • Required to use tech platforms to document and communicate, such as Slack, email, text, and Google Office products.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
