About The Position

Willdan Lighting and Electric (WLE), a subsidiary of Willdan, is seeking Account Managers to support the New York City Accelerator program in New York, NY. NYC Accelerator helps building owners comply with Local Law 97 and advance energy efficiency and decarbonization projects across New York City. Account Managers work in a collaborative, client-facing role, providing advisory and technical support to building owners, property managers, and other stakeholders. The role focuses on helping stakeholders understand requirements, evaluate options, and move projects forward using program tools, resources, and partner networks, including the Momentum platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 4 years relevant work experience with energy efficiency, clean energy, and/or electrification programs, energy sales, incentive programs, sustainability related and/or NYC public programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required for engaging diverse NYC building stakeholders (multifamily, commercial, institutional, industrial, affordable) and subcontractors.
  • Experience with project management platforms and CRM’s.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with our clients and internal staff.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Sound reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking abilities to serve clients in real time.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Ability to attend events in NYC as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of building science, energy efficiency, clean energy and electrification technologies.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience interpreting or implementing NYC local energy laws and building related compliance and policies.
  • Experience working with NYC building related agencies, CBO’s, non-profits, real estate stakeholders and contractor communities.
  • Previous experience providing building decarbonization advisory services, including those associated with Local Law 97 or building performance standards, as either an employee, contractor, subcontractor or consultant.
  • Salesforce proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned building stakeholders, providing guidance on Local Law 97 and related NYC energy and emissions regulations.
  • Support stakeholders in using the Momentum platform, including understanding data requirements, interpreting outputs, and identifying next steps.
  • Provide technical assistance for energy efficiency, electrification, resiliency, and retrofit projects, including support for complex or unique building conditions.
  • Help stakeholders refine building-specific decarbonization roadmaps aligned with compliance timelines, building needs, and financial considerations.
  • Educate stakeholders on available technologies, incentives, and financing options, and provide application support as needed.
  • Support use of the program’s service provider network, including RFI/RFP support and bid comparison guidance.
  • Track and report on account activity and performance metrics to support program strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in outreach activities such as webinars, events, and trainings as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and city agencies to support program objectives and stakeholder needs.
