Position Details The Acute Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will primarily support the OB Department. This includes: assisting with labor and deliveries, postpartum and newborn cares. As census allows, the CNA will also support Med-Surg patients with personal hygiene (bathing, oral) and elimination, eating and hydration, ADL's (dressing, grooming), ambulation, turning positioning, patient transportation, and promptly responding to patient call lights. Contributes to the assessment of the patient status by observing, collecting, and reporting data, including by not limited to: vital signs, intake and output, height and weight, patient and family comments and behavior, and basic symptoms or changes from normal health status. Promptly reports pertinent changes to the appropriate licensed professional. Contributes to a safe and orderly patient care and work environment by following procedures for: cleaning all used patient equipment, caring for patients with restraints, and cleaning the kitchenette, utility and storage rooms; will stock supplies, as needed, and keep patient rooms neat. Contributes to effective patient care and teamwork through effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, co-workers and other departments; communicating information through appropriate channels; growing in knowledge of basic medical terminology; receiving and conveying messages. Is a productive member of the team and completes assigned duties with minimal direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Minnesota
