About The Position

We are seeking a driven and curious Occupational EHS Intern to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team. This is a hands-on, impact-heavy internship designed for someone who wants to build real programs—not just observe them. You’ll split your time between field work (50%) and program development/writing (50%), supporting manufacturing, R&D, and Facilities teams across our Woodland and Davis locations. What You Could Work On (This list may change based on project completion and needs at time of hire) Major Projects You will lead and support several high-value EHS initiatives, including: Safety Program Development Build the Safety Manual for any one of our onsite products used in a construction setting, working with production, engineering, and maintenance teams. Develop in-depth written EHS programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, and other core safety elements. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program Create LOTO procedures for all equipment across multiple sites. Perform field verification, equipment identification, and hands-on data collection. Industrial Hygiene Program Develop Industrial Hygiene sampling criteria, strategy, and documentation. Support noise, air, and chemical exposure assessments. Ergonomics Program Build and implement a full Ergonomics program, including analysis tools, assessment templates, and corrective action planning. Health & Wellness Program Foundations Support development of health‑related policies and initiatives, contributing to the health side of EHS (wellbeing, fitness for duty, etc.). Daily Responsibilities Conduct field safety walkthroughs and collect on-the-floor data. Assist with incident reviews and corrective actions. Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, R&D, Facilities, and leadership. Maintain documentation and EHS metrics through Microsoft Office and Navarro platforms. Help drive a culture of safety engagement and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Public Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Comfortable in manufacturing environments and wearing PPE
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to spend 50% of time in the field/on the production floor
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and occasionally lift equipment or materials safely
  • Must be willing to use required PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coursework in EHS or Industrial Hygiene
  • OSHA 10/30
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Experience with ergonomics or exposure assessments

Benefits

  • This is an internship position, with a rate of $25-27 per hour.
