About The Position

The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) PRN plays a vital role in supporting occupational therapists by delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients in home health settings across the United States. This position focuses on assisting patients in regaining or improving their ability to perform activities of daily living and work-related tasks, thereby enhancing their independence and quality of life. The OTA PRN works closely with occupational therapists to implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, ensuring therapeutic goals are met. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to provide care on an as-needed basis, responding to fluctuating patient demands and schedules. Ultimately, the OTA PRN contributes significantly to the multidisciplinary healthcare team by promoting patient-centered care and facilitating positive health outcomes in the home environment.

Requirements

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License
• Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• CPR certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Auto Insurance
• HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Applies infection control/universal precautions in patient care.
• Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation.
• Provide effective communication to patients and families, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
• Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies.
