Friendship is looking for a PRN Registered Occupational Therapist to join our Friendship Health and Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for treating injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required, Masters preferred
  • Occupational Therapy license in the state of Virginia required
  • Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Masters preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments
  • Adhere to departmental, organization and regulatory agency policies and procedures
  • Assess treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessary
  • Participate in program development, quality assurance and improvement efforts
  • Supervise and collaborate with rehab aides/techs, OT/COTA students and others as assigned
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve quality of care for residents and/or improve departmental operations
  • Work with other departments to provide the best care for each resident by identifying opportunities to cross-treat
  • Comply with all local, state, federal, and facility policies and procedures
