About The Position

Where You’ll Work At CHI Health CUMC-Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Job Summary and Responsibilities This is a prn/casual position, working at CUMC-Bergan Mercy Hospital and Lasting Hope Recovery Center. As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients. To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player. Provides occupational therapy assessment, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources. Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals. Is knowledgable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law. Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures. Provides supervision to occupational therapy assistants and techs according to established local, state and federal guidelines. Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of occupational therapy practice.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist License in Nebraska or Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
