M&J is seeking an Office Engineer to assist with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) duties. M&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction documentation or project administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • NICET Level II or III certification.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Experience with VDOT SiteManager or similar DOT documentation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, correspondence, and contract records.
  • Track contractor submittals and shop drawings and coordinate review with project staff and VDOT personnel.
  • Maintain quantity tracking logs and documentation for progress payment estimates in VDOT SiteManager.
  • Assist with preparation and documentation of change orders, supplemental agreements, and force account work.
  • Maintain document control systems and electronic project files in accordance with VDOT documentation requirements.
  • Prepare meeting minutes for progress meetings, coordination meetings, and partnering meetings.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly progress reports and project status reports required by VDOT.
  • Support project staff with contract administration documentation, records management, and contractor correspondence.
  • Assist with preparation of Contractor Performance Evaluations (CPE) and project closeout documentation.
