As an OKTA Senior Support Engineer, you will own the end-to-end architecture, security, and operational stability of the enterprise OKTA platform. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role where you will define platform standards, drive authentication and access governance, and ensure 24x7 availability of business-critical identity services. You will play a key role in strengthening identity security, enabling seamless access experiences, and guiding global IAM teams toward operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 12 - 15+ years of experience in IAM, Security, or System Administration roles.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with OKTA administration in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience managing IAM platforms in 24x7 global support models.
  • Strong expertise in authentication, SSO, MFA, identity federation, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with OKTA integrations, workflows, and application onboarding.
  • Experience managing BAU operations including incident management and service requests.
  • Strong understanding of access governance, service accounts, and certification processes.
  • Experience working with audit, compliance, and security frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and act as an escalation point for critical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in large, global enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Zero Trust and modern identity security frameworks.
  • OKTA certifications such as OKTA Certified Administrator, Consultant, or Architect.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP or CISM.

Responsibilities

  • Own and govern the global OKTA platform, including architecture, standards, and roadmap.
  • Define and implement authentication policies, MFA controls, and identity security designs aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Ensure 24x7 platform availability, SLA adherence, and service continuity across global environments.
  • Act as the final escalation point for critical incidents (P1/P2), leading major incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Oversee day-to-day OKTA operations including policy management, group updates, rule modifications, and service request handling.
  • Lead OKTA integrations, including SSO, Adaptive MFA, Lifecycle Management, and API Access Management.
  • Manage and maintain OKTA agents (AD agents), including deployment, patching, monitoring, and issue remediation.
  • Drive access governance including admin access provisioning, service account lifecycle management, and periodic certifications.
  • Manage network zones, IP whitelisting, and ensure secure access configurations.
  • Maintain CMDB records, application ownership details, and OKTA-mastered application governance.
  • Support audits and compliance requirements, including remediation of findings and implementation of security controls.
  • Lead hypercare support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and issue resolution.
  • Define on-call, escalation, and support models to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide leadership to global IAM teams, mentor engineers, and act as a trusted advisor to senior IT and Security stakeholders.
