JOB SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, this position hosts music or other programs on one or more IRSC Public Media stations. Duties include: Preparing for show by researching content or music; operating automation system; editing content; voicing programs either live or via voice-tracking

Requirements

  • Associate Degree; two (2) years of related media experience (radio, TV, podcast or similar), as well as working with professional audio equipment, computers, portable recording devices, and editing software; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Knowledge of radio station operations, journalistic and broadcast standards, and FCC rules.
  • Ability to write and orally deliver content on-air, live and recorded.
  • Skill in working with professional audio equipment, computers, portable recording devices, and editing software for broadcasts.
  • Skill in organizing, managing time, and prioritizing.
  • Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, master new broadcast technologies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, use good judgment, multi-task, be self-motivated, be creative, and work independently as well as with others.

Responsibilities

  • Host a regular program on broadcast and online platforms.
  • Produces and electronically edits segments for air; uses editing tools in order to maintain high standards of sound quality.
  • Produces and edits Underwriting, Promotional, and Public Service Announcements, as needed.
  • Works weekends, early morning, or evening work hours as needed.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
