About The Position
We are searching for an On-Call Cook to join our team at The Diner in Vancouver. This position will ensure our guests have an enjoyable experience by providing excellent and nutritious meals while maintaining high quality standards. This position offers additional $7.00 per hour for weekend d hours. We are looking for skilled individuals who are dependable team players. Who we are Meals on Wheels People is a local non-profit enriching the lives of older adults and assisting them in maintaining their independence by providing nutritious food, human connections, and social support. The Diner in Vancouver offers older adults a place for intergenerational social interactions and nutritious meals choices. The Diner’s mission is to create a sense of community through food and proudly serves a classic diner menu with a healthy, local twist. Requirements
- One-year relevant kitchen experience preferred
- Passion for food, strong work ethic, and desire to grow
- Current Food Handler’s card or ability to obtain one upon hire
- Proven excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to perform quickly and accurately during peak business hours
- Passion for serving older adults in our community
