About The Position

As our Oncology Clinic RN, you will be responsible for providing professional and compassionate care specifically to adult, oncology/hematology patients. You will serve as a critical point of contact and expertise, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.Every day, you will apply your judgment and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions regarding patient care within your scope of practice. This includes integrating available standards, resources, and data, and efficiently utilizing staff and resources to address patient issues and needs, even in the absence of a physician or provider. You will engage in continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families, community agencies, patient care staff, and management, providing education, directing care, and delegating appropriate tasks.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a high level of accountability for the quality of care provided, possess comprehensive knowledge and clinical skills in adult oncology/hematology, and exhibit exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.

Requirements

  • Diploma Of Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing , upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Administers chemotherapy.
  • Applies knowledge of current cancer treatment modalities to patient care.
  • Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards. Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services. Patient Populations Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the department’s defined specific populations served.
  • Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self-accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements.
