About The Position

The Opportunity: In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Experience: 2+ years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or related operations. Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred Procurement experience and order tracking required. Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping documentation. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency in inventory and procurement systems such as SAP, Citrix, VWR+, ChemSW, and other customer-specific platforms. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or related operations.
  • Procurement experience and order tracking required.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory for consumables, chemicals, and samples, including tracking, movement, cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and reporting.
  • Provide daily customer service and communicate with stakeholders regarding inventory and order management.
  • Support purchasing tasks such as tracking backorders, expediting shipments, managing quotes, maintaining records, and resolving invoice or pricing issues.
  • Receive order requests from scientists and enter orders into the system; procurement experience and order tracking are a plus.
  • Handle order entry, reporting, metric tracking, and cost-saving documentation.
  • Coordinate shipping activities, operate basic warehouse equipment, and enter shipping data into customer systems.
  • Safely manage hazardous materials and prepare compliant shipping documentation and packaging.
  • Oversee consigned, non-consigned, customer-owned, and third-party inventory.
  • Use Avantor and customer systems (e.g., SAP, Citrix, VWR+, ChemSW) to complete tasks.
  • Meet performance goals related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Deliver inbound packages directly to customer contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
