About The Position

Rutgers University’s School of Health Professions ( SHP ) invites applications for a full-time, 12‑month faculty position in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences ( CLS ) Division of the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Medical Imaging Sciences ( CLMIS ). The position is available as early as September 2025. The successful candidate will join a dynamic department committed to excellence and innovation in clinical laboratory science education, including graduate programs such as the Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (MS‑CLS) and the Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science ( DCLS ). Interprofessional education and collaboration are actively promoted within the Department of CLMIS and SHP , providing a unique environment for faculty development and scholarly engagement. Rutgers School of Health Professions is a division of Rutgers Health, New Jersey’s premier academic health center, and is the largest school of health professions in the U.S. SHP offers degree programs from the baccalaureate to doctoral levels across seven departments and is nationally recognized for its innovation and excellence in health professions education. The Department of Clinical Laboratory and Medical Imaging Sciences offers the Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science ( DCLS ) program, the first in the nation, MS in Clinical Laboratory Science, MS Diagnostic Cytopathology: M.S. Entry-level, and M.S. Post-professional, as well as an undergraduate program in Medical Laboratory Science (BS).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three years of clinical laboratory science experience, including teaching and professional service
  • Current U.S. professional certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS ( ASCP )CM or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach graduate-level online courses in molecular diagnostics, clinical immunology, chemistry, and genetics.
  • Advise and mentor graduate students.
  • Participate in scholarly activities.
  • Contribute service to the university, school, department, and broader professional community.
