About The Position

Qualcomm's Open Source Engineering team works with internal and external groups to develop, maintain and enhance internal processes and systems essential to Qualcomm’s open source objectives. In this role, you will be collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with a variety of experience and skills. Your tasks would include analyzing large and complex software code bases, executing review processes, internal tools and integrating open source practices into engineering development workflows. You will be responsible for delivering operational support, resolving technical issues, formulating effective solutions involving engineering processes and automation, and contributing to the advancement of Qualcomm's open source objectives. This position requires technical depth, operational discipline as well as excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of Git and version control systems, experience with Git/Github/Gitlab preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, C/C++, Javascript, React
  • Good understanding of languages commonly used in open source ecosystems like Rust, Go etc.
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle and engineering fundamentals
  • Strong technical understanding of Linux Operating Systems, including working in a Linux development environment
  • Strong understanding of build systems and package managers (e.g.: Gradle, Yocto, Maven etc)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to accurately and thoroughly document processes and workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Good understanding of Open Source licensing, open source development workflows is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review source, including open‑source and third-party dependencies for compliance, licensing, and policy alignment.
  • Scan, analyze codebase, and review architecture between different software components.
  • Create and implement tools and automation to enhance functionality or increase operational efficiency of compliance processes
  • Work closely with global development teams to create documentation pertaining to the code under review.
  • Review, support and respond to developer requests in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with leads and contribute to operational solutions which optimize existing frameworks and processes
  • Publish(e.g., writes, reviews, and edits) technical documentation.
  • Independently perform well-defined assignments and handle urgent requests efficiently.
  • Partner and collaborate with professionals in various roles (engineers, analysts, legal teams) to accomplish assigned tasks.
