About The Position

The Operational Support Analyst – Senior, as a member of the Finance department at Rochester Regional Health will provide financial support, analysis, and actionable consultative advice relative to Rochester Regional financial results, operations, budgeting, capital needs, and reporting with the goal of improving overall financial performance and business processes. The Operational Support Analyst – Senior will lead team level project and processes and provide guidance, assistance, and training for other team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Health Administration, Statistics or related field
  • At least 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience including experience collecting and analyzing data, healthcare experience preferred
  • High level of computer and software competency; proficient with database administration and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; using systematic methods to perform work and creativity to recommend or create new work methods or procedures.
  • Analytical, proactive problem solving skills; techniques to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills are essential along with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
  • Ability to present to audiences to different levels of financial knowledge.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and training end users on software packages, reporting, and financial concepts.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Works with assigned leaders to assist in the development of operating budgets, including summarization and analysis for budget review meetings, and is an active participant in the budget summary preparation for the Board of Directors
  • On a monthly basis, meets with assigned leaders to review financial performance against static and flexible budgets, assists in identifying causes for variance and assists with the creation of improvement plans
  • Actively works to learn, understand, and improve their client’s business, including but not limited to: Understanding clinical processes Developing efficient staffing models Understanding supply chain impacts, vendor preferences, and price inflation
  • Obtains thorough understanding of the accounting process to interpret financial transactions for non-financial end users.
  • Provides guidance, assistance, and training for other team members
  • Expected to lead and coordinate specific departmental deliverables
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
