About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Operations and Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team in Youngsville, NC. Relocation assistance available within US. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. As the Operations Manager you will directly manage the supervisors of the YPO site and have overall responsibility for the full scope of operations. The Operations Manager directs and coordinates functions for the product line including manufacturing, technical services, supply chain, quality, and operational excellence. You will plan, coordinate, supervise and motivate the activities of all assigned employees as well as the utilization of employees assigned to peer lines to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals and supporting plant wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum three (3) years professional experience in manufacturing operations or engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum one (1) year experience managing others

Responsibilities

  • Lead plantwide continuous improvement initiatives driven by EBS pull, PQ Key Projects, and alignment through the CI Council and Annual Improvement Plan.
  • Lead the site’s Daily Accountability process, ensuring adherence to ECIS standards and continuous maturity of the system by building Problem Solving capabilities based on performance trends and tier escalations.
  • Develop and execute the plant’s balanced scorecard, ensuring visibility and accountability for key operational metrics.
  • Lead current and future strategic projects while contributing to divisional strategic planning as a core member of the CPS operations leadership team.
  • Oversee staffing, performance management, and development for supervisors and direct reports, maintaining accurate personnel, productivity, and attendance records.
  • Provide oversight of department production schedules to ensure alignment with On-time performance goals, customer requirements and profit plan goals, including tracking schedule adherence, monitoring past due orders, and escalating supply chain interruptions.
  • Develop team schedules and partner with supervisors to establish manpower plans that meet or exceed production requirements for hourly operations to align with Profit Plan goals.
  • Monitor plantwide productivity and coordinate production schedules to ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Provide coaching, motivation, and guidance to supervisors and CI teams, strengthening problem solving capability, root cause alignment, and skill development across the Focus Factory.
  • Champion a zero incident safety culture and foster an environment aligned with Eaton’s values, continuous improvement philosophy, and employee engagement expectations.
  • Deploy the Eaton Business System (EBS) across the site, including assessments, strategic initiative alignment, and cross functional execution with plant leadership.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing through RIEs, VSM, 5S+, TPM, pull systems, error proofing, waste elimination, and structured Problem Solving.
  • Evaluate and improve current and future state manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and material flow, supporting factory cost out goals.
  • Support new product development through manufacturing feasibility, industrialization planning, production layouts, materials planning, and cost modeling.
  • Collaborate across Quality, EHS, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain while providing ECIS updates and driving engagement in CI activities.
  • Own plant cost out tracking through Cost Verse and lead Integrated Deck Building events to build a strong project pipeline.
  • Serve as site coach for Validated OpA readiness, including OFA tracking through the OpA Digital Workbook.
  • Grow the site’s ECIS practitioner pipeline and ensure the CI team operates within the ECIS Demonstrating Framework with a roadmap to Performing.
  • Partner with CI Supervisor on maintenance of site’s digital tool deployment through standard work documentation and building team competencies for sustainability.
