Operations Internship Opportunity - Canopy by Hilton We are on the lookout for an Operations Intern to join the team at one of our esteemed hotels - the Canopy by Hilton located in Downtown Grand Rapids! Ideal candidates are students currently enrolled in a Hospitality program or those interested in pursuing a career in Hotel/Hospitality Management. This rotational internship emphasizes hotel operations, providing hands-on experience in various departments, including: Front Desk Housekeeping Valet This comprehensive exposure will offer insights into the inner workings of a hotel. Additionally, interns will have the chance to shadow leaders and managers while taking on special projects to deepen their industry knowledge. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree or certification in the hospitality industry or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the hotel business demands
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Flexibility in working various entry-level service positions within the property
  • This position will rotate between front office, housekeeping and valet
  • Understanding of daily hotel operations, policies, procedures, and internal rules, including brand-specific procedures and rules
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guests
  • Ensure that all the school-specific internship program requirements are met. Please note - program may be flexible to meet specific internship requirements
  • Additional departments/roles may be added based on business needs
  • Attend to and anticipate guest's needs
  • Attend regular meetings with the General Manager to track progress and growth
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by the General Manager
