You will perform equipment start‑ups, shutdowns, and adjustments, maintains accurate operating records, and supports both routine and emergency plant operations. The Technician ensures the facility meets its generating requirements while upholding strict safety, environmental, and quality standards. You will be in Stamford, CT and reporting to the plant manager.

Requirements

  • A detail‑oriented technician who takes pride in safe, reliable equipment operation.
  • Comfortable working in both control room and field environments.
  • 1+ years of experience troubleshooting and performing hands‑on maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Identify issues early and respond quickly to protect equipment and personnel.
  • Someone who enjoys varied daily tasks, from operations monitoring to technical repairs and outage support.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the status of all plant equipment and systems.
  • Make routine facility rounds, inspecting machinery for potential issues, abnormal conditions, or failures.
  • Respond to alarms immediately and take corrective action to protect equipment and maintain generation.
  • Start up and secure plant equipment from the DCS (Distributed Control System) or directly in the field.
  • Adjust operating parameters to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance.
  • Operate plant equipment manually.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation maintenance within skill range.
  • Complete work orders for repairs, replacements, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot motors, motor controllers, VFDs, UPS systems, switches, sensors, and control devices.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as boom trucks, forklifts, flatbed pickups, and utility vehicles.
  • Help with preventative maintenance (PMs), spare‑parts tracking, and inventory management.
  • Support outage planning, scheduling, and execution during forced or planned maintenance periods.
  • Maintain all logs, reports, and documentation per plant requirements.
