About The Position

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our New Britain, CT team! As our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our Liquid Coatings facility including full P&L responsibility. We are a Tier-1/Tier-2 aerospace chemical processing specialist with over 40 years of continuous operation serving every major U.S. Prime Contractor and hold multiple DoD and medical approvals. You will drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, capital investment strategy, and profitable growth while maintaining flawless safety, environmental, and quality performance. Requirements

  • Sales and Management experience in Metal Finishing, Quality AS9100 / Nadcap experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace chemical processing/coatings (phosphating, dry film, powder coating, or anodizing).
  • 5+ years of full P&L responsibility for a $10M+ manufacturing business unit.
  • Proven track record maintaining Nadcap merit and AS9100 certification with zero major findings in the last 3 audits.
  • Strong knowledge of MIL-DTL-16232, MIL-PRF-46010, AS5272, AMS 2488, MIL-DTL-5541, and aerospace Prime requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, cost accounting, make-vs-buy analysis, quoting, and capital justification (IRR, payback, NPV).
  • U.S. Person (ITAR compliant)

Responsibilities

  • Full profit & loss ownership: budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial reviews, cost reduction, pricing strategy, and capital justification.
  • Strategic Sales and management of proprietary processes and product lines
  • Lead daily operations through tiered accountability meetings, visual management, and 5S/Lean principles.
  • Maintain and expand Nadcap merit status (Chemical Processing, NDT, and Coatings checklists) and AS9100 certification.
  • Serve as primary customer interface for OEM Primes and Government visits (DCMA, DCAA, DLA).
  • Drive continuous improvement: first-pass yield > 98%, on-time delivery > 98%, scrap/rework < 2.0%
  • Oversee Environmental, Health & Safety program (zero OSHA recordables target, , air consent order, wastewater treatment and permit compliance).
  • Manage annual CapEx plan (new spray/ curing equipment, waste treatment upgrades, powder booth expansion, etc.).
  • Develop and execute strategic plan for capacity growth, new specifications, sales opportunities.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership team; maintain positive morale (union-free environment).
