About The Position

Manages daily operations in a district including but not limited to scheduling, orientation, electronic time records, data review, paramedic field supervisors, employee evaluations, medical protocol, inquiries, medical supplies, and unit and station upkeep.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic determined by appropriate state requirements.
  • Current CPR certification as established by the American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS certification as established by the American Heart Association.
  • Current and valid state-issued driver's license determined by appropriate state requirements (equivalent of a Louisiana Class "D" driver's license).
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers.  Must possess the ability to write simple correspondence or reports.  Must possess the ability to effectively present
  • Must be knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures and safety policies.
  • Must be able to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations to include refusals, drop times, fuel consumption, ticket completion, late tickets, All safe driving, unit inventory, station & unit upkeep, narcotic cards, Lifpak battery recycling, research tickets, MTC's, spare units, accu-checks, staffing and scheduling, intranet memos, mandatory education, recertification .
  • Manages district OS staff.
  • Observes crew changes weekly.
  • Communicates w/OS and employees concerning operational information.
  • Completes plan and reviews on OS employees.
  • Reviews OS medical audit reports.
  • Maintains twenty-four on-call status for district.
  • Occasionally works as extra crew as needed.
  • Collects, reviews, and approves electronic time sheets from OS staff.
  • Assist w/new employee orientation on policy and procedure.
  • Rides 3rd person w/field employees.
  • Assist w/distribution and enforcement of company policy & procedure.
  • Participates in Goal Planning Sessions.
  • Organizes and participates in area disaster drills.
  • Visits w/hospital staff to maximize working relationship.
  • Assist Vice President Operations w/public relations as needed.
  • Attends and facilitates area staff meetings with VPO.
  • Administers disciplinary actions including verbal and written notices and suspensions.
  • Maintains a check and balance on station petty cash supply.
  • Maintains and distributes control substances for the district.
  • Assist w/organization and implementation of membership campaign.
  • Provides professional and personal guidance to employees.
  • Facilitate special assigned tasks requested by Director or Vice President.
  • Supervises spare unit up-keep by OS staff.
  • Monitors and directs OS activities and makes a final decision in the absence of Regional Vice President.
  • Facilitates initial auto accident investigation and reports to VP.
  • Handles inquiries and reports findings to VP or gets VP involved if necessary.
  • Monitors all operational data collected for his/her respective district.
  • Maintains district staffing and scheduling.
  • Manages station operations.
  • Reviews and resolves daily shift report items.
  • Facilitates employee meetings with law enforcement, attorneys, and private investigators.
  • Investigates and resolves response critiques.
  • Monitors district cellular telephone bills.
  • Attends or facilitates attendance at public meetings.
  • Responds to major accident scenes.
