About The Position

Come help us build the world's most reliable on-demand logistics engine for delivery! We're bringing on experienced scientists/engineers to help us create the real-time logistics platform that powers DoorDash’s three-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers. You will be reporting to an Operations Research manager and this will be a hybrid role. About the Role Operations Research Scientists on the Assignment team have the opportunity to dive into a wealth of logistics data, and use advanced optimization and machine learning techniques to maximize the value for our consumers, dashers, merchants, and DoorDash. Requirements

  • PhD in operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of post-graduate research or industry experience in solving complex optimization problems using mathematical programming or metaheuristics
  • Programming fundamentals, experience in object-oriented and functional programming languages, and an understanding of algorithms
  • Must be comfortable regularly exercising discretion and independent judgment in performing job duties, including evaluating options, making informed decisions, and determining appropriate courses of action within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
