Job Title: Operations Strategy Intern (Project Management) The Role QuidelOrtho is looking for an Operations Strategy Intern that wants to spend their summer working towards our mission: Changing Lives, One Test at a Time. Interns will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop their skills all while contributing to key company projects and initiatives. Our team will help students apply their educational background and broaden their knowledge base within their role and learn more about working in the medical device/biotech industry. Interns will work with a mentor(s) on a guided and impactful project and will be able to collaborate with and be part of a supportive and dedicated team. Support high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that drive operational excellence by developing business case, planning, organizing, and tracking workstreams; enabling clear communications; and helping teams deliver on-time, on-scope outcomes. This Internship is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid program for 10-12 weeks. Session 1: June 15th through August 17th Session 2: July 6th through September 7th Office Location: San Diego, CA or Raritan, NJ - Students must be in the area for duration of the program. QuidelOrtho is unable to provide housing accommodations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in the Fall Semester 2026 at an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Able to start on either June 15th or July 6th.
  • Ability to complete a consecutive 10-week internship.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Comfort collaborating across functions and levels; detail-oriented; proactive.

Nice To Haves

  • Rising Junior or Senior at an accredited university or college.
  • Experience with project tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Planner, MS Project).
  • Familiarity with process mapping (Visio/Lucidchart) and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business case to approve project
  • Support project planning (timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks).
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, capture notes, and follow up on action items.
  • Maintain dashboards/trackers and publish concise status updates for leadership.
  • Gather requirements, map processes, and assist with change-management communications.
  • Analyze project performance to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to a reusable PM toolkit (templates, routines, best practices).
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
