Responsibilities include teammate development and asset reliability improvement, full responsibility for asset results, and predictability. This individual should be recognized for leadership capability, possess high standards of professional performance, display vision, and demonstrate both personal and organizational sensitivity. The role will report directly to the Plant Manager of the Lexington manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for maintaining process strategy and direction and receives direction in the form of plant and project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Experience leading people and collaborating across functional boundaries.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a variety of operational assignments in a manufacturing environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team as well as leading teams to complete projects within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Manages self and team in accordance with the Owens and Minor values.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the operation.
  • Manages scope and mitigates risk across the asset.
  • Provides leadership for all operational issues, and collaborates with a cross functional team to identify, prioritize and correct areas that could impact business results.
  • Meets or exceeds objectives in safety, cost, quality, productivity, customer service, and corporate ethics.
  • Provides direct leadership to production teammates, maintenance associates and process technicians.
  • Prepares and manages budgets and schedules.
  • Is flexible on work hours and travel required to support problems and asset development.
  • Supports the facility QMS policy and compliance by contributing to the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. The QMS requirements include Corporate QMS, MDSAP, and all other appropriate regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the Lexington site.
  • Supports the facility EHS policy; complies with all local EHS regulations and codes; identifies, reports, investigates and addresses any EHS substandard acts and/or conditions and drives the setting of EHS objectives and evaluates the effectiveness of the plant’s EHS Management System.
  • Provides leadership and coordination coordination with the business teams, staff management, staff functional groups, and manufacturing teams to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Participates in the development of strategic manufacturing and supply chain plans for the business.
  • Supports and drives LEAN and cost reduction projects.
  • Manages the data integrity and maintenance of required systems to ensure an efficient operation.
  • Ensures actions are consistent with regulatory standards and corporate policy.
