About The Position

The Operations Technician III will work within Lumen's Professional Services Control Center (PSCC). This role requires a high level of technical expertise in handling complex assignments related to network systems troubleshooting, isolation, and/or maintenance activities. The position involves addressing the most challenging problems and providing mentoring and training to technicians on the team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Advanced expertise in Optical DWDM Transport Equipment (Infinera, Alcatel/Nokia, Ciena 6500, Waveserver)
Strong knowledge of Dark Fiber and Wave products
Experience with alarm monitoring systems (e.g., RFM, Solarwinds)
Candidate must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and isolate advanced network issues.
Perform complex maintenance on network systems.
Mentor and train team technicians to enhance their skills.
Support Network Operations Center and PSCC customer repair activities.
Resolve complex problems with network hardware, fiber, colo space, and power.
Use software and hardware tools for network diagnostics, monitoring, and maintenance for PSCC customers.
Communicate effectively with customers via ticket system, phone, email, and chat; efficiently document actions.
Review and realign active issues as needed.
Provide training and mentorship to team members.
