Our Opportunity We are looking for a Temporary / Seasonal Operator at Fuel Center for our Covington, TN location. Summary/Objective Performs tasks essential to Fuel Center operations, providing prompt, efficient, effective, safe, and courteous quality service to the customer. Responsible for ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation while maintaining a neat and clean work environment.

  • Experience working with agricultural types of equipment preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
  • Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision
  • Customer focused and able to work in a collaborative team
  • Ability to be flexible in work performed and schedule
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills (preferred)
  • Trained or be able to operate lift truck if
  • Self-motivated and able to perform cleanup around the work area
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with team members and customers
  • Applicants must also be able to demonstrate the following competencies: acts with integrity in products, processes, and relationships; delivers results efficiently & effectively; embraces role as an individual contributor to the warehouse team
  • Needs to stay in good physical condition to regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, perform preventive maintenance activities, and assist other workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural fuel location.
  • Employee will regularly be required to walk, stand, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel and grasp.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service, greet customers promptly and courteously, address and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Handling payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist customers with fueling, if necessary, monitor fuel pumps, receiving in of bulk fuel loading of bulk fuel.
  • Monitor fuel pumps to ensure they are working correctly and safely, conduct pump inspections and report any malfunctions or potential hazards.
  • Maintain inside of store location keeping it clean, well-maintained, and free of safety hazard.
  • Restock supplies as necessary.
  • Follow company procedures regarding emergency situations or safety concerns.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment (like fire extinguishers) is in place and operational.
  • Report any suspicious activities to management.
  • Accurately record sales, and cash and card transactions.
  • Complete the daily shift reports and other paperwork as required.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Cross-trains to fill other positions as needed.
  • Able to troubleshoot needs and repairs on own with little to no external vendor support.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and help others in the facility.
  • Assists location supervisor as needed.
